Father's Day

I want each and every Father's Day to be very special and unique so that the three fathers in my life know how appreciated and loved they are!

Evans requested a "New England Cookout" Menu (via Saveur) for his father's day meal and I was up for the culinary challenge (knowing I have some great help from our moms!) We enjoyed shrimp chowder, roasted potato salad, a fresh blue cheese, parsley, radish, and cucumber salad, bacon-baked beans and grilled corn on the cob. We sipped gin and tonics and enjoyed "blueberry slump" for dessert. We enjoyed every minute of this special time together.

Jeanie (who turns 4 months tomorrow!!) went to bed early, but here she is earlier in the day looking like a little doll:

We've stayed pretty busy around here...the pool has opened, baby showers, wedding parties, outdoor dinners, and beach trips have begun! Below is a photo from a good friend's wedding we attended over the weekend. (I loved seeing all the tuxes and Evans is sporting his father's day gift--some new shades!!)

Erv-you inspire me to be a better, more patient and loving parent. You are such a wonderful role model to Van and Jean-Margaret!! What on earth would we do without you? And to my own dad- you have taught me so many things and I am extremely grateful to have you in my life. Lawrence--I  lucked out in the father-in-law department. I am so appreciative of your support with our kids and in our own lives. I love you all tremendously and hope you had a wonderful belated Father's Day!

Here's a little video of our angels to commemorate what life is like on Father's Day in 2012 :

I cannot forget Sophie-Linda who provided an inconsistent vaccum/clean up service after our meal:

  1. 1. What a fabulous, loving group of awesome dads.

    2. Squeeze those babies! 4 months!

    3. Sophie Linda is the cutest vacuum ever. Anyone who doesn't have a dog vacuum or 3 is missing out.

    Love you!
