Banana Pancakes

Can you tell whats going on here?

If not, let me explain. Van loves to jump. I think he will jump before he walks. This is us dancing to Jack Johnson this morning. (Notice his Rihanna hair strip)

Tooth!

After much hard work teething, chewing, sucking, biting, fussing, drooling Van finally cut his first tooth. It is really cute!!

We had such a fun weekend with our friends and lots of help babysitting from their little girl, Riley.

Coronas

Is it really already Thursday? This week is flying. Thanks to G-Mommy Lackey, I have been spending most afternoons writing. Less than a week before my first draft is due. whew! Van is at a really fun stage. He  entertains himself with little toys here and there, but looks at you for encouragement.  Sometimes I feel like I am interrupting his playtime. Here is the fella chillin in our bed with one of his favorite toys:
I am pumped about our guests coming tomorrow...the fun Corona fam!
(sorry Slinks, stole from your snapfish)

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY, ERV!

For father's day we finally went canoeing which was such a beautiful treat!

{Evans did most of the work...}
Many father's day cinnomon rolls, chocolate-chip oatmeal cookies, and a couple of steaks later ... we celebrated with the fam. I am blessed to have 3 amazing fathers in my life and love them dearly.

Evans is the most wonderful father to Van and I am very grateful!
Speaking of Van, have you ever played with an egg crate before?

...Its exhausting

Stuck in vacation mode!

Bob Marley, a glass(es) of white wine, some cheese + crackers, and an all southern, vegetable dinner--stuffed green peppers with corn on the cob, out on the porch.

Despite caring for a child and writing a thesis, Evans and I are discovering ways to indulge in our "vacation" :) Summer is sooo hot in NC it makes every day feel a little slower and more relaxed. (or more lethargic, sweaty, dehydrated and tired--depending on how you want to look at it...). Excited for father's day this Sunday and some beach time in July, but for tonight we are dreaming of the day Evans gets to charter a sailboat and show me the BVI's! Let us know if you want in. The more the merrier!

Mr. Mom

I am really sorry if that title instigated that terrible country song in your head...{pampers melt in a maytag dryer etc...}, but Evans has been a rockstar daddy...dividing up his own vacation with me so that I can get some thesis writing done.  Daddy daycare has been much more fun than boring days with mommy.
I can hear Van trying to talk to Evans and its so cute. All sorts of sounds and squeals. They are quite a pair.
{Trying to thumbs up, I think...missed the thumb-up part...Hey Soph!}
