Dear Abe,
On the morning of your first birthday you woke up in a head-to-toe, red, welpy rash. You were miserable. But you KNEW it was a special day (why is the entire house covered in orange streamers and pumpkins...why is mom making you wear this hat...why do I get pound cake for breakfast and cookies for lunch...??). You tried really hard to enjoy it. Little buddy, we love and celebrate your first year of life SO much. I know we are always all over you and never give you much alone time, but you are learning so much about life and how to love from your two big siblings who steadily smother you in snuggles. We really cannot get enough of you. We had to cancel your party at the last minute, but your family (and Harrison!) were here (and in costume!) and we all reassured you how special and cute you are. A visit to the doc revealed a viral rash and another ear infection (your umpteenth in just a few months).
One week later, you are now back to your normal self. Thank God! What a tough first birthday sweetie! It can only get better next year :) Thank you for surprising me with how much love I am capable of experiencing in one life time. We love you little feisty fella!!
