Van's First Sleepover
Van and cousin Oliver bunked up at the beach...so we were aware that Van enjoys chit-chatting after bedtime :) He was so excited to have cousin Frasier spend the night this weekend! After a long flight from Vermont, Frasier was very sleepy for her snooze time. Van, on the other hand, was giggling/playing hide and seek/and tapping her on the shoulder every time she started to doze off.
After tolerating the entertainment for about 10 minutes... Frasier said "cousin Van, you are being too loud...I am trying to sleep." Unfortunately I had to take Van back to his bed, but they had so much fun together.
Frasier--we love and miss you!! Come back soon!!!!

Focus on Fun
Wow...I have never really thought about Rhode Island--other than the fact that it is small and up north :) Put together some amazing people, a gorgeous home, pictionary, 'Bob'ing for apples, jump ropes, hoolah hoops, guitars, and lots of awesome energy--and Rhode Island is a pretty fantastic place. I'll just let pictures do the talking! Thank you Mayhews/Bergmans for organizing such a memorable weekend.

Fit for a Queen
We may have to upgrade our real estate based on Jean-Margaret's liking of the Biltmore House!
Thanks to Coastal, we enjoyed a 4-day jaunt to Asheville with unlimited access to the Estate and Inn. It was truely fit for a queen and such a breath of fresh air. I don't love the architecture (not a huge gothic/gargoyle fan) but the home is certainly captivating with its inspiring views, gardens, and furnishings.
The last night we enjoyed an amazing roof-top reception (rainbow included!)
Next up--some time with the Mayhew Bergmans! :)

Back to School!
Last week, on my 29th birthday, I got a very exciting phone call. My former boss at Peace asked if I was interested in teaching a course this semester. Not having any sort of logistics worked out, I immediately replied "OF COURSE!" Despite the chaos of getting Van and myself back to school, organizing a syllabus, and packing for two big upcoming trips-- the adrenaline has kicked in and Evans and I have still found time to do plenty of this:
And to squeeze in a "farewell summer" family outing to the airport observation tower!
